Our Board of Directors is a dedicated team of volunteers donating a wealth of professional expertise to ensure that the Rainbow Endowment meets the needs of our community. In addition to evaluating grant proposals and awarding funds to qualifying organizations, the Board is working hard to develop new sources of revenue to guarantee resources are available far into the future.

Jean E. Bochnowski served as Rainbow Endowment's first Executive Director, has recently been elected as a member of the Board of Directors. Jean has more than twenty years of experience in marketing, development, and management in an array of non-profit organizations, including National Audubon Society (Audubon, PA), Zoo New England (Boston, MA), Maryland Zoological Society (Baltimore, MD), Bay Health Medical Center (Dover, DE) and The Medical Foundation (Boston, MA). She holds a BS from Boston University and an MS in Administration from Wilmington College. Jean and her life-partner live with their daughters near Philadelphia.
Frederick J. Bostwick is Director of Community Services for the Philadelphia County Assistance Office of Pennsylvania's Department of Public Welfare (DPW). Responsible for Welfare to Work, outreach, and many special projects, his career with DPW has spanned more than thirty years. Frederick is a graduate of La Salle University and served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Thailand. He is an active volunteer in many community service programs including United Way, Women's Way, Mayor's Commission on Literacy, and the AIDS Walk. Most recently, Frederick was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund.
Philip J. Goldberg, based in Fort Lauderdale, has been a chief financial officer to several companies in the design profession. He earned an MBA from the Wharton School, in addition to a Masters degree in city planning from the Graduate School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania. Philip has extensive experience serving on boards of trustees and board of directors for cultural organizations and AIDS/HIV related organizations.
Karen Mudd is a founding member of the Rainbow Endowment. Based in South Dakota, she is a non-profit consultant with over 20 years experience in governmental affairs, marketing & communications, non profit resource development and philanthropy. Before launching her own business Karen served as the director of development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America in Philadelphia. This position represented a shift to youth services from the field of aging, where she dedicated much of her career. Karen earned a Master's degree in Women and Public Policy from George Washington University. She currently serves on the board of a statewide LGBT organization and is a founding member of Equality South Dakota.
William Peters, co-chair, is executive director of Gay Men of African Descent, a New York based non-profit organization. He holds an MBA from Pace University and a BS degree from Temple University. Based in New York City, William has served as development director for Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund and director of the Greater New York Campaign for the United Negro College Fund where he gained extensive experience in donor and foundation relations, direct marketing, special events, planned giving, and major gifts.
